LAST NIGHT’S TELEGRAMS.

(Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, last night. A married man, named Edward l’atclictl, died suddenly this afternoon in the Art. Gallery Hall, of which he was caretaker. The deceased, who was aged 52, had been attended by a doctor.

Dr. Pickerill, of Dunedin, who look one of his sons to YVaitaki Boys’ High School yesterday, was surprised to find on arrival that the Health Department had made no provision for students presenting medical certificates before being admitted to school. Dr. Pickerill felt so strongly upon the subject that he despatched a telegram to the Director-. General of Health, protesting against students being permitted to enter secondary schools without such certificates.
