COLLAPSE OF THE FRANC.
FALL Oli' FIVE POINT'S IN WEEK. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, Feb. 15. The Daily Express’ Paris correspondent reports that the startling collapse of the franc is the one topic of conversation. Jl represents a fall of five points in a week, and speculation on the Bourse is inclined in the direction of panic. On Saturday M. Herriot called a conference of experts, whose deliberations lasted unt.il three o’clock on Sunday morning. The disquieting factor is the speculation against the franc among ordinary people, suggesting a, lack of confidence in the Government. M. Vioiette, reporting on the Budget, stated in the Chamber that France requires another .six thousand million francs revenue.
