IN UNLICENSED PREMISES

Ip the .Magistrate's Court at ICaikoura two charges were heard arising out of the storage in unlicensed premises raf a consignment of petrol recently sent to Kaikoura. J. A. Philp and Co., owners of the goods, and the Kaikoura United' Motor Co., occupiers of the building in which the goods were stored, were each fined £5 and costs, and* the petrol, which was valued at about £IBO, was ordered to he forfeited. Mr It. Girling Butcher, who represented the department, explained that a number of such consignments had been forwarded to country districts, and proceedings had been taken to act. as a warning.
