Signor Filippo ■Socelii, journalist' of the staff of the Corriere Della- Sera, was a passenger by the Maiunganui, which arrived in Wellington yesterday front San Francisco. Signor. Sncelii has been commissioned by his newspaper to make a tour of the Pacific and Australia for the purpose of gaining an idea of the conditions prevailing on this side of flit" world. He holds a letter of introduction to the Prime Minister and other prominent citizens of Wellington. Signor Sacchi i.s also keenly interested in New Zealand newspapers.
