WAIROA-WAIMANA ROAD.
The construction of a through motor road between Wairoa and the Hay of Plenty was endorsed by the Bay of Plenby Development League last. week. Bay of Plenty. explained Mr. P. Keegan. could' fatten stock well, but lacked the necessary stores. There were thousands of these in Hawke's Bay and it would he an important item if the drive could be shortened by about. 10 days by the completion of (bis road. Besides connecting the two districts for the entrance of sheep the road would cut off 100 miles in the jouriie,.- south, and as far as its scenic attractions were concerned these would be Mire to bring inauv people. R. passed the fauujus Waikaremoana and i! would open a lot of land for settlement. It was easy land with many valleys like Toa Toa. A bridle track would' be constructed by the alliumn, but they ought to have a wide road. Mr. Scholield seconded, and said be saw no reason whv this district should remain isolated as in the past.
