BLAZE IN THE COUNTRY.
SIX-BOOMED DOUSE DESTROYED.
A six-roomed house up the Arai Valley, occupied by Mr. T. A. Field, was completely destroyed by fire yesterday morning shortly after 8 o'clock. A washhouse and dairy near the liouse were also destroyed, but a wool shed and other buildings further away were undamaged.
When the outbreak was first noticed, Mr. and Mrs. Field were outside. The tire appeared to start in the kitchen, but spread so rapidly that practically nothing could be saved. The house Mas situated on tho opposite side of the river from the Reay station, and was a- fairly old wooden structure. It was insured i'or £6BO with the South British office. The furniture was covered by a policy of £2OO, and the washhouse and dairy were insured for £2O. both policies being with the same company.
