ATHLETICS.
A special mealing of the committee nf the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Carrier Club was held last evening. Mr. A. S. Parker presiding- over a full attendance of mem here.
The suggested visit to Gisborne of a Wellington athletic team was discussed. Full particulars relating to the tour were contained in letters received from Mr. F. A. MeFadyen, a member of the N.Z.A.A.A., and from Mr. D. Paris, a member of the team.
Ifc was decided to accept the visit, and to 'hold a sports meeting on January 17. The personnel of the team is as follows: C. Jenkins, sprint champion of Now Zealand ; A. Priestly, New Zealand 'Varsity champion distance runner; and I). Paris, one of the Dominion's greatest nil-round sprinters. It was also decided to invite.E. Morris, Auckland's champion cyclist, to compote at the meeting. The following programme was submitted and approved : 100, 220, 440, and 880 yards and one mil©•handicaps; 100 yards' scratch invitation race, !,, 1. and 3-mile Poverty liny cycle championships, U and 2-mile cycle handicaps, 440 yards' relay scratch race, long jump handicap, javelin event, 150 yards' schoolboys' handicap, 880 yards' schoolboys' walk.
