LEE SMITH'S FOLLIES.

OPERA HOUSE, TUESDAY

The Jollies" open their Gisbcrne

season at the Opera Hoiks to-ni^ht. The Taihape newspaper, reporting on Iho Lee Follies, says: 'At the l-nvn Hall lust night Lee Smith's New tollies gave an entertainment, and the programme submitted was a good one. Brightness was the dominant keynote, each member of the company rendering his or her items in a manner than stamped them as artists. li-ee Smith is the possessor of a. fine voice, and she was heard to advantage in all her members. Songs were also rendered by Dorothy Verne, Dorcen Adela, and Frank Walker; while Carle Waiker gave several saxophone solos that earned the approval of the audience. The comedy part of the show was in the capable hands of John Larkins, and the adjective 'jolly' is well deserved. Possessed of a find voice and pleasing personality, he delivers the 'goods' in a first-class style; nnd the audience were loth to part with him. The dressing was excellent, and taken altogether it was a pleasing entertainment. Not. the ieast praiseworthy feature about lite show.was its I'reeness from vulgarity."

A recent report of the Rangitikei Advocate says: "This is by far the best show that has been in the district.; the audience Wore loth to part with them."
