THE FOLLIES.
"Tho Follies" open at the Opera House on Tuesday night. A contemporary states • '•'Die programme supplied, was a in ally good one. Jolly John Larkins —the adjective "jolly" being well deserved—kept the audience rocking with Jiis clean and clever humor. John has been with us before, but his impersonation of Mrs. Gallagher excels anything yet seen in this district; in fact the audience were loth to part with him. Lfie 'Smith is the possessor of a Very (inn dramatic soprano voice, which was heard to advantage in all of listfiolos, including 'Waters of Minnetonka' in the Indian Ensemble, *his number being very well portrayed by Jolly John. porcen Adela is certainly a clever too dancer, and her dances were very pleasing. Frank. Meade sang weltchosen .songs, and was very well received. Earle Walker again pleased with his saxophone, and was recalled many times. Dorothy Verne. Claire Carson and Lorna Dconc also did their goofl share to the evening's most enjoyable performance. The costumes were excellent. (hie of the pleasing facts is the absence of vulgarity."
