TERRIFIC SMASH.
MAN KILLED AT < RGSSfNG
ADELAIDE, Nov. 26.—With a terrific crash an engine and train of carnages and trucks collided with a motorlorry at the .1 unci inn road crossing, J’uscwafor, near Port. Adelaide, this morning, with the result that the driver of the lorry, Glart-nce Will;ham, was killed.
Tin', train left Dry Greek for Adelaide at 9 o’clock, and as it uus approaching the crossing the driver noticed the. huge lorry, containing seven tuns of road metal, approaching. Ho sounded a warning and applied the brakes, but too late to prevent; a collision.
The lorry was hurled across a cattlo pit and smashed to atoms. Wilkhom was thrown ten yards on to the permanent way, striking his head. Ho was frightfully injured, and died soon afterwards.
The left buffer of the engine was smashed, a tod was broken, and the, windows of the cab were splintered by flying metal. ,
