PRIME ’MINISTER REASSURED
Empire unity was a subject touched upon by the Prime Minister at the banquet at Shannon to celebrate the opening of the Mangahao hydro-electric works.” Mr. Massey said that Empire unity had always been in the forefront o-f his and bis Government, policy. The Dominion had always supported that policy and insisted that political and official activity should be based on the need for maintaining the Empire as a homogeneous association of self-governing Dominions under British sovereignly. “There have been times quite recently,” said the Prime Minister, "when I have had to entertain doubts, of the continuance of unity in the Empire, but now I feel much more assured. lam con-, fidenfc that tho Empire will neverjio riven apart.”
