MR. BRUCE’S CONFIDENCE,
. . SYDNEY, Nov.- 6. ■ Speaking at the Nationalist Club luncheon, "Mr.. Bruce, Prime -Minister of Australia, said he was confident that the new British Government would go- ahead with/the Singapore base and would give effect to the decisions of the Imperial Conference. He had received Intimation from the Conservative pgirty within t-bh past two months that it had agreed:to. give effect to the proposals. Ha looked forward with absolute confidence to early steps being taken to carry out the Empite . defence scheme,- and make provision for* the oncoufagement of inter-Empire trade. *
