To-night will see the final screenings of “In the Name of the Law, a. truly fine special; “The Victor,’’ with Herbert Rawlingsoii; Baby Peggy in “Carmen Jr,’’ and the International News. ‘ To-morrow, both at the matinee and evening sessions will be continued another special holiday bill, when “Anna Christie,” the big Thomas luce production with a great cast, and the Larry Sernon super-comedy, “The Gown Shop, ’ will) be presented together with a splendid array of supporting pictures. Thomas H. fn.ee has abandoned the picturemaker’s frequent artifice of relying upon magnificent backgrounds, expensive “sets,” and mass movement to “carry” a production, and subordinated everything to the end of achieving fine characterisations in this powerful story. It proves that a compelling staga drama can bo re-enacted on the screen without losing artistic power—rather .gaining in strength and compelling realism. Larry Semon performs his greatest antics against the pleasing background of a modiste’s establishment in “The Gown Shop,” a Master picture comedy. A complete mannequin parade is staged in ilia first part, with the most beautiful girls in Hollywood playing the parts of the. models. In addition will be shown “A Cattle Station in New South Wales,” educational interest, “The Last of the Bison,” travelogue, English and Bathe Gazettes. PALACE THEATRE. The magnificent programme at the Palace Theatre which has for its two big attractions Thomas Meighan in the fuperb dramatic story, “Piecl Piper Malone,” and Clara Kimball Young in the dynamic mystery, society romance, “Cordelia, the Magnificent,” will be finally shown to-night. These exquisite productions are aided by a splendid supporting programme. To-morrow, at the matinee, another powerful two-featurei programme will be presented, when the star attractions wid bo the beautiful Florence Vidor in the sensational society drama, “Woman Wake Up,” and Lester 1 Ounce, the daredevil star of the William Fox productions, in the thrilling .adventure drama, “Blue Blazes.” The supporting programme will include the latest and lunniest, Sunshine comedy, “Thu Great Nickel Robbery,” which will introduce the finest, selection of comedians_ evjr seen in a William Fox Sunshine fares; the latest Fox News, the World's Gazette, and a travel scenic. “Woman Wake Up” has a wonderful appeal in feminino 'beauty, gorgeous gowns and .-Mtines of splendeur, and heart throbs in a laughter romance after marriage. The storyrevolves around a famous male flirt, .who fell, in love with iv beautiful young, and domesticated woman. Now, if there was one thing he did not want it. was domesticity, and for the young wife, if there was one thing she disliked most, it was a husband who was frivolously inclined. She realises that she cannot adapt him to her style of life, so she, sets out on a new idea, to keep him captivated. Tt leads to many wonderful j complications but she is happy for ever J afterwards.
