CURRENT FOR HAWKE’S BAV. Little time is being lost by the re-cently-elected Hawke’s Bay Power Board in getting to work. A week ago il field its first meeting, and oh Wednesday met- again for the purpose of discussing various power hoard matters with Mr F. T. Kissei, Chief Government Electrical Engineer. With Mr
Kissel were Mr Miller and Air F, N. Thompson, resident engineer, of the Public Works Department.
The conference, which was held in committee, proved very satisfactory, and many matters in doubt were cleared iiiji. The Board passed a hearty vote ot thanks to the Minister for arranging for Mr Kissel and Mr Millet' to visitNapier. I’he members are doing everything in their power to see that there is no unnecessary delay in obtaining power from Mangahao. In the course of conversation. Mr Kissel stated that power from Alangahao would be available for tliis district, if the necessary guarantee was given, within twelve months. Should the Board desire to visit Mangahao, stated ATr Kissel), everything would tie done to explain to members what is going on at the works.—H.B. Herald.
