BOXING.
MEETING OF ASSOCIATION
The newly-appointed committee of the Gisborne Boxing Association met in the training rooms last night. Present: Messrs. Stoneham, Parker, Jeffreys, Fox, Humphreys'. Jones, Gibbs, Clayton, Stratton, Murphy, and the secretary pro turn, Mr. A. IT. Rice. Mr. A. Stonclmni was elected to the chair.
Some discussion took place with reference to the arrangements in connection with the contest between Lin Robinson and Geo. Cumin, and it was decided to stage the fight cm October 25, provided Curran defeats Bert Brown, whom he meets at I"atone on October 6. If Brown is the victor in this fight, negotiations will bo opened with him immediately. As preliminaries to the big bout, a number of amateur bouts will be contested.
From Tuesday night next, the training rooms will be open every night between 7 and 9 for all amateurs who wish to go into training.
