TRIBUTE, TO NELSON BOYS

Tlio Governor-General was accorded a civic farewell at various gatherings at Nelson yesterday. They were largely attended despite the bad weather. He also presented his trident to the Iron Duke Sea Scouts, and congratulated Nelson on havjng the champion sea scout troop in New Zealand, as it had the champion cadet company. H e recalled that on a previous visit he had presented the Rid'difprd*Cup to the Nelson College cadets. It was also mentioned that Nelson held four trophies competed for by youths throughout New Zealand. In the afternoon' Lord Jellicoe opened the Scriptorium'at Nelson College, a massive brick building erected as a memorial to the old boys who well in the war, and he unvejled the war memorial containing 120 names. It was mentioned that over six hundred old boys of Nelson College served in the war. Lord Jellicoe returned to Wellington in the evening.
