WELLINGTON, this day.; At the Supreme Court. to-i|ay sentences were parsed as follows: Boy Leslie Jorgen Ncilsen, fiiied £2O, in default three months ’ imprisonment, for carnal knowledge of a girl under 16. The girl introduced herself to accused and acted us temptress. Cyril Wagstaff, for indecent assault, was granted probation for threo ycarS, and to pdy £ls 15s. costs. Both- prisoners nro married men with children. In neither case did the judge thihk any, inference of daniage to the girls’ ftjorrtl fibre could bo drawn. A period 6f reformative treatment would be the best thing for them. , Frank Ansell, for forgery of telegrams whereby a woman . was deprived of her • savings, wa* \ sentenced to hard labor for; a ycatJt* and a half. Frederick Courtenay, for theft from the person, was sentenced to three years on two charges, tjho sentences (o be concurrent. Joseph William Moore; for theft was sphtoncod to 18 months' imprisonment and Leonard H, Perry for theft of two > motor cars, to reformative detention not exceeding two years.
