‘DISGRACEFUL” ROADS,
"The roads are in a disgraceful condition,. and it is a shameful thing to put soldiers on land without, giving them proper access,” remarked' a Wanganui resident, when referring to conditions existing in (lie Sandon block of tile returned soldiers’ settlement at Ohingaiti. He stated that when lie travelled through the settlement the other day his car was on numerous occasions on the verge of capsizing. He instanced the case of one returned man whose cart capsized: when conveying provisions to hi,s home. 'T, don't know how some of the unfortunate .'settlers get out of their properties in the winter time,” he eoneluded, “and it is not safe to drive over the-roads n't night-”
