PIONEER’S DEATH.

(Per Press As#oniaHon.)z AUCKLAND, last night

Mr. Alexander McKenzie, one of the original settlers of Omaha, is dead, aged 99. The late Mr. McKenzie was born in Nova. Scotia. With the brother of the life Captain Kenneth McKenzie and others, lie decided to emigrate, and these companions set about the construction of a vessel of 105 tons, which was built entirely by their own hand's and named the Spray. The venturesome party set out from Cape Brett for New Zealand in 1857. - After his arrival, Mr. McKenzie still followed the sea, and also engaged in farming.
