SANDBAGGING STORY.
DECLARED TO BB UNTRUE,
(Per Press Association.) TAIHAPE, this day
With reference! to a story of alleged sandbagging at Taihape, as told by George Cuthbert Turnbull in Wanganui hospital, the police here state that the story is absolutely untrue, and there is nothing in' it whatever. Turnbull told the same story at Huntervilie, where lie was treated' by Dr. Mitchell, and advised to inform the police, but lie refrained from doing so.
