AN IDEAL COUNTRY.

A VISITOR’S TRIBUTE. THE CO-OPERATIVE EFFORTS. (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, June 16. Mr. Macpherson, in a second article dealing with New Zealand, states that New Zealand l is an ideal country for newcomers and farmers. It is difficult to realise that the country has been developed in such a short space of time. One cannot fail to bo impressed by the well-laid-out towns, splendidly-equipped ports, gigantic schemes of water power, and the general use of labor-saving devices, but. it is not on individual effort alone that the country depends for prosperity. Coupled with that is the collective spirit of co-operation which is a phenomenal feature of the economic life. By linking individual with co-operative efforts in production, transport, and marketing. New Zealanders are attaining a standard of efficiency which is a model to the rest of the Empire.
