ANGLO-MEXICAN RELATIONS.
MISSION nr INQUIRY. (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn., (Reuter’s Telegram.) (Received June 17, 2 p.m.) LONDON, June 16. In the House of Commons, Mr. MacDonald, replying to questions regarding the Mexican Government’s threat to expel Mr. Cummins, said the Government regarded the action as a grave breach of Anglo-Mexican courtesies, but was awaiting further information. The Mexican Government had been informed that Mr. Cummins would leave upon the arrival of Sir Thomas Holder on a mission of inquiry, with a view to regularising Anglo-Mexican relations. They also had been informed that if they took steps against Mr. Cummins, with which the British Government did not concur, Sir Thomas Holder's mission would not be proceeded, with. Air. MacDonald agreed thntjjhe trouble was due to Air. Cummins’ representations on behalf of the rights of British subjects ■in Mexico. The latest referred to a British woman, whose property the Mexican Government wished to seize.
