POLITICAL CONFUSION.
NATIONALISTS' DILEMMA
CO-OPERATION OF OTHER PAR TIES NECESSARY.
(The Times.) (Received May 10. 11.5 a.m.) LONDON, May 9,
A Berlin correspondent says: German Nationalists are tardily realising that even they cannot form a government without the co-operation of other parties. It is clear they are aiming at a coalition with the Centre and People's parties, trusting they may enjoy the benevolent neutrality of Democrats on the one hand' and the Freedom party on the other. It is a precarious basis upon which to build. Even should the Nationalists come round to the view that unreserved acceptance of the experts' report is the only alternative to confusion, the Centre party will join in on no other terms, and the benevolent neutrality of the Democrats is not otherwise obtainable. What the Freedom party will do remains obscure. Popular rumors already credit it with making preparations for a "putsch."
