Representative) Britten., a Republican member of the Naval Committee, has announced that he would introduce a resolution in the House to-day for the purpose of ascertaining the strength of the United States Navy, compared with Britain and Lapan. He said lie would call the attention of the country, to the shocking state of its unpreparedness in a naval sense, adding : “I am, certain our navy is not. on a parity with that of Great Britain. I am not so sure that Japan is very fan* behind us, notwithstanding our right under the Washington Conference treaty to he nearly twice her size.”
