STATE OF THE TRAM TRACK.
(To tho Editor of tho Herald.) Sir,—Permit me space in your journal to call the attention of our esteemed "City Fathers'' to the disgraceful state of our road and tram track from Lvtton Road terminus down. At present there are dangerous holes beside the tram rails over two feet long and ten inches wide, where only last week a cyclist narrowly avoided a week in hospital, and n damaged cycle. { understand, sir, that we have lately had a new tram manager appointee]. Now, for what purpose? Burely to raise us n little above the status of a hard-time Mexican outpost .' I am sure, sir, a leisured stroll over the tram sections will assuredly convince any of our councillors or Ham way officials that neither the road nor the tram track reflect much credit upon our Borough, and if accidents and mud showers are, to be prevented, then these yawning "shell holes" in the road, and these dangerous seams beside the rails, will need to have prompt and serious consideration.—l am,"etc., PRO BONO PUBLICO.
