WORKLESS IN THE SOUTH.
HARD WINTER PEARED
That unemplojynent is beginning to be severely felt is indicated by the increasing number of applicants for help in getting work who have called at the Salvation Army Barracks during the past week or two (states a Dunedin telegram). These included six young, ablebodied mj;n of a good type, who have just about come to the end of their financial resources, and whose efforts to obtain work have been unsuccessful. This gives rise! to an uneasy feeling that the winter may bring distress to many. Applications for relief are also numerous at the Army headquarters.
