FOOTBALLER'S DEATH.
A FATAL COLLISION
<P«-r Pres 3 Association.) PALMEKSTON N., this day. An. inquest concerning the- death of Louis Phillip Allerby, who died i'.vorn injuries received in a football match at C'olyton last Saturday, was held before the coroner this morning. Evidence was I Kiven that the deceased had taken the ball, after it was kicked by an opposition player. He then ran a few yards, when he> collided with an opposing player, who jumped to stop the bail as deceased kicked it, both falling to the ground. There was no rough play or ill-feeling among the slayers. The coroner returned a. verdict "that death was duo to internal hemorrhage resulting from injuries received in a collision on the football field. The circumstances showed that the* occurrence was an accident, but he did not think the opposing player should have jumped as life did in a friendly game, unless perfectly sure he could have assisted the ball in its flight."
