LICENSING MEETING.

BAY OF PLENTY COMMITTEE

The quarterly meeting of the Bay of Plenty Licensing Committee was held at To Karaka. this morning, Mr E. C. Levvey, S.M., presiding. There were also present: Messrs M. Doyle, P. 11. Jackson, J. Rlid, F. J. Tombleson and C. It. Bridge. The transfer of tho Whangara Hotel from John Edward Proctor to Edward Parry was approved. An application for the transfer of the Tatapouri Hotel from George Giilett to Edward Ashworth was granted. Leave of absence was granted to, Walter Hill (Tatapouri Hotel), the house to he under tho management of James Moore in' the meantime. Messrs J. S. Wauehop and F. il. Jones appeared in support of the 'applications, and Constable Leckie appeared on behalf of trie police. The. police reports on the conduct of the various hotels in the district were ill favorable.
