EDUCATING THE EAR.
NEW USE FOR RADIO. LONDON. Feb. 21.—Radio-telegraphy promises to be not only a boon to the deaf, but, according to a Paris medical authority, may even cure them, says the Paris correspondent of The Times. Even those'deaf from birth are able with the aid 1 of ear-pieces and “lis-tening-in” apparatus, to hear sounds, and! in cases in which the deaf can distinguished sounds these have been amplified by a loud’ speaker and heard clearly without the aid of ear-pieces. It is believed that by education, such as is given by means of vihrations from a suitable apparatus, suppleness may be restored to the tympanum, and the deaf indeed may be able to hear. Already remarkable progress in this direction has been recorded among cases kept under observation.
