His Majesty sent a message acknowledging greetings, and expressing a hope that the gathering would form another happy link between the two great English-speaking peoples^ Mr. MacDonald, proposing the toast in honor of Mr., Kellog, declared that the whole, nation was standing, with baled breath', awaiting further news as to the condition of ex-President Wilson. The relations 'between America and Britain werei never better and ho prayed that they . would long continue. %o that America and Britain would want no alliance and no documents and that thev would be prepared to stand side by side not in n political alliance, but in human fellowship to help each other to advance the cause of humanity.
