THE ÜBIQUITOUS BUNNY.

BABBIT SKINS COMING INTO GREATER VOGUE. (Sydney Sun Cabies.) (Received February 4. 10.15 a.m.) LONDON, Feb.'2. The increasing use of rabbit skins is becoming a marked factor iti the changing women's fashions. Formerly a two thousand guinea seal or chinchilla coat lasted, the wealthy wearer a lifetime. Now fashion compels changes for those claiming to be smart. In view of the growing scarcity of most skins, fur traders are making, more extensive use of the rabbit, which the development of skill in d/oin'g and dressing enables it to appear in various forms. European princesses and other leaders of fashion are wearing charming rabbit coats, costing thirty to fifty guineas, while shop girls are able to purchase plainer coats from two to five guineas. Dealers predict a- greater future for Australian skins. Hudson Bay skins are soling in London at 20 per cent, advance and a general rise is expected. This is attributed to Germany's attempt to recapture the dyeing \pd dressing trade, which would result in dearer garments six months' hence. It is proposed to establish a furriery technical college in London to teach manifold modern processes, particularly the disguising of rabbit skin. .. The fur trade is organising an exhibition to bo held, in London injJune.
