LAST NIGHT'S TELEGRAMS.
(Per Press Association.) WANGANUI, last night. The premises of Dong Lee, fruiterer, in Anzac Parade, were burglariously entered and £7 in money and a quantity of cigarettes stolen. Three, men were arrested to-night. TIMARU, last night. On the second day of the South Canterbury Caledonian Society’s sports to-day, Phil O’Shea carried off three of the five cycle events on tho programme, with a great dash from scratch. Beardman (Christchurch) took the first big event, O'Shea losing ground at a critical point owing to a pedal mishap. Everitt (Christchurch) won the big sprint event. Long (Christchurch) von the half-mile, Harris (Temuka) tile mile, and Lewis and Ridger (Christchurch) the principal amateur events.- - In dancing, in the fling, NonZealand championship, girls -tinder 14, Doreen Wheeler (Dunedin) came first, and in the Highland reel, girls under 16, Lorna Bridge' was the winner.
