PRIMARY SCHOOLS' GAMES.

LARGE GATHERING*AT Till': RESERVE. The popularity of the annual games held in connection with the primary schools of Poverty Bay was demonstrated by the large gathering of parents and children at the Childers road reserve to-day. This annual fixture is eagerly looked forward to by the children, and provides an excellent opportunity for the children of town and country schools to meet on the common ground of sport. In former years it has been customary to combine sports and games, and hold both on the one day, but owing to the largei entries received this has proved too unwieldy, and the fixtures are being held separately, ihe grounds presented a very animated appearanca this morning, football, bas-ket-ball, and tugs-of-war all taking plaee in various parts of the Reserve. Children from quite a number of country schools were present, and the line weather greatly added to the pleasure of the day.
