LEADER OF THE HOUSE.
HON. W. NOSWORTHY
i Par 1 iam ent ar y Re norte r. j WELLINGTON, this day
Only half an hour or so could be given" by tho Premier to the affairs of the House on Saturday, because lie wished to catch the Auckland express in order to, visit Ah-s. Massey, who has been seriously ill in Auckland. The latest reports regarding the invalid are fortunately more favorable. Mr. Massey was kept busy answering questions until the actual moment, of his disappearance from the Chamber. In fact Mr. Witty,’ ignorant of what had happened, put another query to the Prime Minister, only to be told by Mr. .Speaker that “there is nothing before the House ; the Prime Minister is not hero.” , ;
However, someone had to represent the Government during the question bombardment, and the Opposition members chorussed, “-Who is N the leader?” They got. their reply when Mr Nosworthy rose to answer tho next question put to tho Government, lie was heartily applauded on both Sides of tho House.
