UNEMPLOYMENT.
(To the Editor of the Herald.) Sir,—l notice by the report in the paper of tho Borough Council meeting held last Tuesday evening that our Labor councillors were inclined to lay blame on tho Government on account of it delaying with the loan that tho Council needed to enable them to do something to cope with the winter unemployment. Possibly the Government is deserving of blame, but is tho Labor Party freo from blame? Wo all know that for months thoro were dozens of men walking about looking for work and unablo to find it. Would tho Labor Party not be doing more practical good if they insisted upon their own members'observing true union principles of one man, ono job. instead of allowing, ns I know of in at least ono case, whpro a man who is ip good work, and not subject to weather, has his wifdy out working at a job that a man should' bo doing? I would advise tho Labor councillors to attend to their own members’ faults before finding fault with others.—l am, etc. COOK*
