A concert is being held in; the Patutahi hall evening, the proceeds of which are to go towards tho fund for painting the vicarage. A great deal of rehearsal work has been put in by the various performers, and a large attendanco is confidently anticipated. The second half of the programme will con? sist of a bright and sparkling humorouscomedietta entitled. "Chop 'Stick and Spikins," which, in itself will be well worth the charge' made for admission. The sixth long night of Le Grand cabaret will be held to-morrow evening, and the bookings already made indicate .that tho cabaret wiil be verv well attended. The popularity of these long nights show no evidence of abating, and so long as Mr. Ferguson provides* such excellent entertainment in this direction, there is no likelihood that it ever" will wane. All tho latest novelties will bo featured to-morrow night, and patrons are assured of a very enjoyable evening. Tho Gisborne City Band has generously offered its services for a concert to bo held in Everybody's Theatre on Sunday evening next, at 8.30. A.silver collection will bo taken, and tho proceeds donated to tho Hockey Queen Carnival Fund. It is hoped that the public will attend in large numbers, and! show its appreciation of the City Band members in their endeavors to assist in raising funds towards sending . the Poverty Bay girls to Dunedin. early in September.
