PARLIAMENTARY NOTES.
P OLITJ CAL BE DPELLOWS
(Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day
Bitterest verbal exchanges in Parliament take place between the member for Chrslehurch North, Mr. Isitt, and members of the official Labor party, but last night they found something in common, their opposition to the. Gaining Amendment Bill, though even here, the reasons for opposition were not identical. However, they were on the same side, much to the amusement of their fellow members. Mr. Isitt, following in an approving vein a speech by Mr. Parry, the Labor member for Auckland Central, could not help commenting on this departure from custom. ••Extremes meet," ho said. If the hon. gentleman will move an amendment I shall have great pleasure in following him into the lobby.'' (Laughter.). If he will move another amendment in the interests of the safety of horses and jockeys, and to limit the number of horses starting in any race, I. shall again acoempany him in a most brotherly fashion. (Loud laughter.) Mr. Howard: We've got him. I*"*"! fi*,sa A^S<"'dlHJii.j
