NEW BILLS.
{pi'r press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. When tho House met at 2.30 the following Bills were introduced and read a first time: Local Legislation Bill (the Hon. D. Stewart); Immigration Restriction Amendment Bill (Hon. D. Stewart); Native Land Claims Adjustment Bill (Hon. J. G. Coates); Noxious Weeds Amendment Bill (Hon. W. Nosworthy); Companies Special Empowering Bill (Hon. W. Nosworthy); Justice of the Peace Amendment Bill, No. 2 (Hon. C". J. Parr); Industrial and Provident Societies Amendment Bill (Hon. R. Bollard). LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Acts Interpretation Bill was received from the Statutes Revision Committee without amendment, and read a second lime Tho Hon W. Geddis gave notice to ask whether the Government might not utilise tho unemployed to cut back overhanging banks on tho route of the main trunk railway. Tho Animals Protection and Game Amendment Bill, which provides that instead of the Governor deciding what birds shall bo piotccted. the decision will lie with tho legislature, was read a second time, and' at 3.45 the Council adjourned till 2.30 on Thursday.
