Tliet first lamb of the season at Kaiwalua made its appearance a few days ago, states the Napier Telegraph. The Port of London Authority has cabled Captain A. W. Pearao that his appointment as Australian and Now Zealand representative for the Authority has been further renewed. Captain Pear,so is booked to leave for London by the s.s. Mooltan in February next with his wife and three daughters. Large areas of land on the Taieri are still under water ns the result of the recent floods, and farmers are bitterly reminded of their losses by numbers of drowned sheep and pigs which are continually coming to light between the wires on fences and under gorse hedges. Tho water lies uncomfortably close to the back door’s of one or two houses, making tho approaches very difficult to negotiate. Meanwhile, until the water drains off, the land is lying wasto. and all the stock has to bo kept on the higher levels. Hoarstncss and sore throat indicate germ infection. Use Nazol freely—given quickest renef.~7„
