GRAMOPHONE RECITAL.
There was a crowded attendance at the Masonic hall, Childers road, last evening, when Messrs E. Chrisp arid Son tendered a succesful and enjoyable gramohpoiio recital, comprising reproductions of His Master’s Voice records.. The attendance was limited by tho number of programmes issued and tho, accommodation was fully taxed. The feature of the large and varied programme was the reproduction of the King and Queen Empire Day speeches. The programme was as follows: Part I. —Overture, “Morning, Koon and Night,” Von Suppo, The Black Diamonds Band; song, “I Know a Lovely Garden,” Guy D’Hard clot, Emilio Do Gogorza; song, “Lo, Hear the Gentlo Lark,” Bishop, Amclita Galli-Curci; Violin solo, “Medilution,” Massenet, F. Kroisler; two songs, “Down the. Forest,” Ronald, and ‘The Rosary,” Niven, John McCormack; Orchestra, suite from “The 'Tempter, (part I.), German, Symphony Orchestra.; song, “Annie Laurie,” Douglas Scott, Madame Melba; Military Band, “God Save the King.” Empire Day Message from Ills Majesty King George V. and Her Majesty Queen Mary. Part ll.—• Orchestra, Suite from “The Tempter (part II.), German, Symphony Orchestra; song and chorus, “Oloha Oc,” Alma Gluck and Orpheus Quartette; cornet solo, “The Carnival do Venice,’’ Herbert- L. Clarke; song, “Les Doux Serenades, Leoncavallo, The late Signor Caruso (violin fibligato, Miseha Elman); sextette, “Lucia,” Donizetti, Galli-Curci, Egencr, Caruso, Dc Luca, Journet, and Bada; violin solo, “Concerto in E Minor,” Mendelssohn, Jascha Heifetz; song, “Ombra Leggiera,” Meyerbeer, Amclita Galli-Curci; song, “Sun mod,” James, Peter Dawson ; English band, “Mikado Selection,” Sullivan (parts I. and IT., The Black Diamonds Band. “God Save the King.”
In view of the popularity of the recital it is intended to give another at an early date.
