Tho topsail schooner Elsie Mary, bound front Auckland to Gisborne, was reported to have been sighted off Te Araroa yesterday.

The sea was smooth to-day at Cape Maria, Tauranga, and Gisborne, rough at Tiritiri and Capo Palliser, moderate at East Cape and New Plymouth; there was a moderate swell at Napier, a rough swell at' Cape Campbell, and considerable sea at Cbstlepoint. WEATHER FORECAST. The indications are for moderate to strong easterly winds prevailing and freshening. The weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled with rain, following. Barometer falling. Seas, considerable swell; tides good.
