SYDNEY, July 10. It is understood the coalminers have decided not to give the owners the right to dismiss tho men proposed by Mr. Oakes. The conference will resume tomorrow, but a deadlock is anticipated on this issue.
It is reported that Kissock, the centrehalf of the New Zealand Association team, is unlikely to return to New Zealand, as he has accepted a lucrative position at Cessnock with a view to playing for the local club.
Dr. Raymond, a Rhodes scholar, is not available for the New Zealand tour by the New South Wales Rugby Union team, as ho is shortly sailing for England.
In order to ensure a continuity in the supply of teachers, especially for small country schools, tho Education Department . is accepting temporary teachers up to the age of 50 years, provided they pass the necessary test. 1
