ADDINGTON AND WESTFIELD. (l J cr Press Association.) CHRISTCfIUROa, last night. 'There was a large yarding of beef today at the Addington yards, but a small one of fat sheep. Store sheep: Quite two-thirds were hoggets and there was an excellent sale of these, also ewes and wethers. Values Mere : Six and 8-toothed ewes 30s Id, low conditioned four-year Corriedale ewes, good aged ewes 26s sd, 275, and 28s 6d; inferior aged ewes 18s lOd to 225; good crossbred ewe hoggets 26s to 26s 9d; cull and inferior ewe hoggets 19s 9d to 225; good wether hoggets 22s to 23s 5d ; ordinary 20s 6d to 225; cull and inferior 16s 8d to 18 S 6d; good forward 4 and 6-tooth wethers 31s 3d to 325; ordinary 27s 6d to 28s 4d; cull and interior wethers 19s to 25s 6d. Fat lambs: Three hundred odd came forward, but they were a poor lot, and went to the freezers at recent per lb. values.

Fat sheep: Some prime sheep were forward and improved the market for well finished sorts. > Extra prime wethers realised 395; a few special 42s 6d to 455; prime 35s 9d to 38s 6d; medium 32s 6d to 35 s 6d; light 28s to 325; extra prime ewc s 33s to 35s ; a few special 37s 6d; prime 37s 6d to 31s; medium 23s to 275; light 20s 6d to 22s 6d; aged 18 3 6d to 20s. Fat cattle: There was an entry of 445, including 55 from the North Island and two trucks from Otago. Values eased 20s per head. Average beef made from 27s 6d to 31s per 100 lbs. Extra prime steers realised £ls to £l6 10s. A few pens of special £l9 15s; prime £ll 5s to £l4; medium £8 10s to £11; inferior £6 10s to £8 7s 6d; extra prime heifers £lO 17s 6d; prime £7 10s to £9 10s; medium £4 10s to £7 ss; extra prime cows £lO 7s 6d; prime £6 5s to £9; ordinary £4 15s to £6 2s 6d. The vealers ottering were not sufficient to meet the demand, and there was a distinct improvement in prices. Runners realised £5 15s; good vealora £2 12s 6d to £5; fair £2 to £2 10s.

Store cattle: There was quite a good sale for attractive lines of steers. Throe and a-hali to 4-year old steers realised £6 15s to £7 2s; 2£ to 3-year £4 10s to £5 12s 6d; yearling £1 to £1 ss; 2-year-old heifers £2 to £3; yearlings £i 2s 6d to £1 ss.

Dairy cows: A poor lot came forward. Extra good springers realised £ll to £l7; third and fourth calvers £4 4s to.- £9; springing heifers £4 to £8 10s ; inferior cows £1 to £1 10s. Fat P'gs: There was a short yarding and a jump up in pork values. Choppers made £4 5s to £8 10s; light baconers £3 35s to £4 ss; heavy £4 10s to £5 ss; average price per lb 6:]d to 743; light porkers realised 40s to 47s 6d; heavy 55s to 675; average price per lb 9d* to lOd. Store pigs: A small entry came forward and met with a very fair demand. Weaners realised 10s to 15s; extra good weaners 17s 6d; slips 18s to 265; medium stores 28 s to 335, largo stores £2 6s.

AUCKLAND, last night.

At Westfield thero was a large yarding of beef. Extra prinio sold at late rates. Plain and unfinished were Again easier and not in keen demand. Extra prime ox 24s per 1001 b.; choice and prime 16s to 21s; ordinary and plain 14s to 16s; prime young cow and heifer 16s to' 20s; others 10s to 16s. Sheep: There was a fair yarding and sold at about 2s lower than last week. Extra prime heavy wethers 35s to 375; good wethers 32s to 1 345; medium wethers and unfinished 27s to 30s; best ewes to 345; good ewes 30s to 32s 6d; others 25s to 295. Pigs: There was a small yarding and sold readily at a slight advance. Choppers £2 10s to £3 10s; heavy baconers £4 10s to £4 19s; medium baconers £4 5s to £4 10s; lighter £3 15s tu £4; porkers £2 5s to £3 10s; stores 15s to 265. Calves: There was a small yarding and keen competition at late rates. Runners. £3 10s to £4 9s; heavy vealers £2 10s to £3 10s; medium £2 3s to £2 10s; unfinished 35s to £2 Is; fresh dropped 4s to 7s. Lambs : There was a fair yarding and late rates ruled. Best 23s to 265; good lambs 21s to 23s ; others 18s to 21s. MATAWHERO STOCK SALE-. There was not "• large attendance at the Matawhero saleyards yesterday, and the yarding being small in most lines of stock. Tho sale' was of n dragging nature. Fat sheep comprised a small yarding, mainly ewes, with a small pen of wethers. Prices were easier than last week, probably owing to quality. Fat cattle: A small yarding, mostly Jersey sorts, most lines being quitted at prices in keeping with quality. Pigs: A fair yarding, slightly better prices than at previous sale. Store sheep: A poor yarding, principally hoggets and inferior breeding ewes. Prices throughout showed a decline. Fat and forward wethers were well competed for. Store cattle: Small yarding and containing nothing of .special quality, except a lino of yearling heifers and steers. All lines made good prices. Dairy cattle: Another poor yai-ding, quality nothing special. Four heifers wero well competed for and sold at good prices. The balance wero quitted at low figures.
