AUCKLAND, last night. In the Police Court Reg. Gamble was fined £2O on each of two charges for betting at totalisator odds. The bets were made in an hotel bar. Counsel for the defence said the defendant was a bookmaker in a very small way; indeed he had' been in the game only a few months. The magistrate said there would bo no option next time. He allowed a month to pay, in default a month on each charge.
