VAUDEVILLE COMPETITIONS.
Mr. W. A. Low, the well-known theatrical manager, who is promoting tho .amateur vaudeville competitions to be held at the Opera House next Saturday and Monday, has had considerable experience in this class of entertainment. To those wishing to become proficient in tho art of ballet and comic singing, humorous arid dramatic recitations, and various kinds of dancing, tliis is a fine opportunity to gain experience and develop their talents. A special feature will be the competitions for boys and girls 'under 14. These events in other towns caused keen competition; The jazz dancing should also prove popular. The. management will present handsomo prizes to the first and second in, each event, which will also include a suitable souvenir of the occasion. Mrs M. M. Graham, a recent arrival in Gisborne, has a reputation of being a talented vocalist, and her first appearance here on Saturday night should be welcomed with enthusiasm. Entries are being received at the Opera House daily for all competitions, and full particulars of same can be obtained' *on application. The box plan opens to-morrow morning at Muir’s. • 1
