The earliest personal description of Christ, according to the Matin, has been discovered in an old Latin text in the Vatican Library. It practically is equivalent of a modern police report, written in the time of PuWilis Sentsulas, believed lo be Pilate's predecessor, and says: "Christ possesses long, fair hair, falling in curves on the shoulders. His hair was parted in the middle. lie wears a double pointed beard, fairer than his hair. His eyes are of light blue, kindly in expression, but sometimes flash tinder stress of temper. He is of normal build. He stands erect. His voice is soft. He is never seen to laugh, but often cries. His hands arc well kept. The description concludes: "Ho is called Jesus, the son of Mary. His friends call Him the Son o*f God."
