THE HICKSON MISSION.
PETITION FOR. SERVICES AT GISBORNE.
The Anglican Church Congress, to be held; at Christchurch at the end' at this month, will discuss, the itinerary of Mr. J. M. Hickson's tour through New Zealand. A petition is being compiled, for submission to the Congress, expressing the wish that Gisborne will bo included! in the itinerary, since, though Mr. Hickson. has. signified that he wishes to; appear at only one centre in each dh'ocese Gisborne's isolation is such that it will be. impossible to transport to Napier many cases that might be beiriofitted by his healing powers. Canon Pncko stated) to a reporter that the lists have been freely signed, and arc still available for signatures. The petition will be foirward'ed) tto the Bishop of Waiapti by thei last mail prior to May 14th, and! it is hoped! that the number of names on the lists will influence the Congress in tho direction of considering special claim.
