In connection with tho May Day demonstration four police were hemmed in the crowd near the Labor headquarters. One of them was stabbed in the back. The police drew swords and batons and attacked the crowd. The conflict lasted half an hour. Several were injured. MADRID, May 2.

Thousands of workers participated in the May Day demonstration. All was orderly till a dispersing group of demonstrators came into conflict with the police. An ugly situation developed. The police fired, killing two and wounding two.
