PILOTLESS PLANES
IMPORTANT EXPERIMENT IN BRITAIN.

LONDON, May 1. The Daily Chronicle’s aviation correspondent saysi that secret experiments in the application of wireless control to aeroplanes have* demonstrated that Britain is not behind any country in this development. Machines have been flown without pilots or crews, made to* tu-ist and/ turn by means of wireless, and to land 1 at any desired spot. It is hoped shortly to be possible to drop bombs from pilotless planes, thus completing investigations* which began in 1915. The experimental aviation ground- was fenced with electrified barbed* wires, and! sentries were posted to ensure secrecy of the experiments.
