FARMERS' UNION.
The monthly meeting of the executive of the Poverty Bay branch of the Farmers’ Union was held to-day. There was a good attendance. Mr. M. T. Trafford presided. The station master in charge, Mr. G. A. Parsons, in reply to.'a complaint concerning the state of the sheep yards a,t Mntawai and Motuhora, notified that the matter had now been attended to.— Received. —It was stated that this wns one of he small matters in which, the Union had beep useful. Writing from Tiniroto Tom Atkins, a farm hand, wanted to know whether as soon as the prices of wool and meat went up that employers would increase the wages of their regular farm laborers.—Received. —It was mentioned that some farmers had increased the wages of their employees. Mr. A. H. Cockayne telegraphed that it would bo impossible to arrange n visit in the near future.: —Received. Tt was mentioned, that it was supposed that Mr. Cockayne would not. visit here 'this season, Reports of meetings of the Mnnnfnhi and Waimnta branches were received. The Dominion executive wrote asking !f there were any railway disabilities.— It was decided that the secretary should write to the Mntawai branch, asking them if they were suffering from any disabilities.. ’ .
